A recent trip to wai Yearn, the ancestral home of Lau Soei was done by Paul Whitrod and students in September. It was thought that Lau Soei village along with his future generations of his students was long gone. But over the past 5 years contact was made. and Southern Chow Gar Mantis was taught there by Lau Soei Nephew who is now 92 years old (Photo in white shirt sitting)
Photos show the areas where Lau Soei lived and Challenged the monk Wong Fook Go, and the market place where Lau Soi Taught and demonstrated his Ma Kuen (Horse Style) before learning Mantis.
Everything fits what Grandmaster Yip Shui said about Lau Soei's life and his fighting skills when he was alive. Although Lau Soei had no Childen, the art was taught to his brother and kept the system alive to this day.
In one of the pictures is Lau Soei's home that he had built in the 1930s but he never lived there as he lived and died in Hong Kong.
