New staff Competition
Coming early in the new year.
There is the 2nd full contact staff fighting competition. No holds barred,
include striking with the feet and fists. Competitors wear only gloves
and head gear, no body protection. Old Newspaper Stories In coming months we will show some old newspaper stories about Chow Gar Praying Mantis kung fu, from Chow Ah Naam to Lau Soei and also Yip Shui. The old stories were written in Old Chinese so we had to get some special Chinese translators because it’s written in old style Chinese, something like Shakespeare in 17th century. How ever we managed to get a host of stories, famous techniques such as the devil horse staff and so on the 1st chapter is (emergence of Lau Soei).. Paul Whitrod sifu Essex seminar
An Essex seminar took place
with Paul Whitrods schools from around the country, sifus/senior level
students all took part in a 3 hour event covering different skills. If
you wish to take part in the next coming event it is sheduled for March
2008. Understanding the Chow Gar Southern Mantis system In the Southern Chow Gar Praying Mantis kung fu system there are many different types of hand and leg techniques as well as forms, drills, sensitivity skills, weapons etc. There are 8 forms and 1 more for development of the body namely sarm bo jin the others famous forms are. a full time school in Stratford East London Teaching authentic Martial
arts. For any person wishing to study Southern Praying Mantis kung fu
then there are 5 classes a week to which you can attend. The address

Walking stick seminar The recent gwai jeurng (walking stick) seminar attracted 14 people, the stick was special to Grandmaster Yip Shui and contains 16 moves. (photo added) Instructor courses Instructor courses that have taken place for the past year and half have produced new instructors. These courses are in-depth and are for 6 hours per day on the last Sunday of every Month. The next one is on the 27th Jan 2008.
